I Hit 100 Sales on Etsy Today! 🎉

Today marks a big milestone—100 Etsy sales! When I first listed my products, I wasn’t sure if anyone would even find them. Hitting this number feels like proof that people not only see what I’m creating, but also value it enough to bring it into their lives. That’s an amazing feeling.
But as excited as I am, I’m also thinking about the future. Etsy has been a fantastic launchpad—it gave me visibility, trust, and a steady stream of shoppers. The flip side is that Etsy takes a cut from every sale, and those fees really add up. As I grow, I want to shift some of that traffic to my own website so I can keep more resources for improving designs, materials, and customer experience.
Why Move Traffic to My Own Website?
Lower costs: Etsy takes transaction fees, processing fees, and ad fees. On my own site, I only pay for hosting/payment processing.
Control over branding: My shop is one of thousands on Etsy. On my site, I can design the entire experience—packaging, product pages, even the thank-you notes.
Build direct connections: With Etsy, I don’t get as much control over customer data. On my site, I can build an email list, offer loyalty perks, and grow a real community.
My Next Steps
Here’s what I’ll be doing to start shifting traffic from Etsy to my own site:
Add inserts to every Etsy order – little thank-you cards that include my website link and maybe a discount code for their first direct purchase.
Update social media links – Etsy is where people often discover me, but my profiles (TikTok, Instagram, etc.) can point followers to my site as the “official store.”
Exclusive perks – I’ll keep some special products or limited editions available only through my website to make it worth the visit.
Content & storytelling – I’ll share behind-the-scenes posts, design stories, and tips directly on my website so it becomes more than just a storefront—it’s a hub for the brand.
What This Milestone Means
100 sales is just the beginning. Etsy gave me momentum, and I’ll always appreciate that. But now it’s time to start building my own dock, so to speak—something stable, branded, and scalable.
To everyone who’s purchased, shared, or supported: thank you. You’ve helped me hit this milestone, and I can’t wait to see where the next 100 orders take us. 🚀
